Fababeans (Vicia faba L.) contain antinutritional factors which may decrease the productivity monogastric animals. Experiments were made with chicks to determine in the effects of the antinutritional factors fabebeans could be reduced by adding of enzymes to the diet, by autoclaving, and by dehulling. An additional objective was to identify factors that might affect the reliability of metabolizable energy values of different fabebean fractions as determined by the true metabolizable energy (TME) systems
