J. Ugarte Laiseca Affiliation: Instituto Forestal de Investigaciones y Experiencias (IFIE) Biography: Ingeniero de montes alavés, nacido en Vitoria el 15 de febrero de 1889. Graduado en 1914, ejerció en el distrito forestal de Cuenca, pasando en 1920 como profesor a la Escuela Especial de Montes de Madrid. Colaborador de diarios como El Sol y de publicaciones de su especialidad como España Forestal o Revista de Montes, participó asimismo en congresos internacionales. Autor de diversas monografías. Review:

In the first and second part of this work which have been published by this Institute in the years 1947 and 1949 respectively (IFIE BO-037 y IFIE BO-044), we have already mentioned its cientific and practical) finalities so that we can dispense with reproducing them anew. Continuing our work, we have realized a new series of about 3.000 analysis so that their total, including the previous ones, amounts to more than 10000. In this third part is summarised the result of all these investigations and are, besides, added some supplementary remarks as to the study of the "dead cover of the woods" and to the determination of the "climate of forest species"
