Main objectives of the present work were: (I) to assess the most adequate management practices to minimize environmental risk associated to organic residue accumulation in the Andean-Patagonian Region, specifically sewage sludge or biosolids; fish farming wastes (uneaten food and feces) and fish offal wastes; (II) to develop preliminary studies on compositing in order to design guidelines for large scale production, and (III) to obtain high quality compost which satisfy international requirements (USEPA, UE).
