Review:
As a continuation of the work "Interfacial phenomena. Contact angle. Applications", published by the I.F.I.E. in Communication No. 21, the wetting capacity of 14 types of Spanish and tropical wood is studied.
The Zismann equation is applied to obtain the linear relationship and thus be able to find the wetting constants.
The wetting and adhesion works are determined by testing an alkyd varnish, a resorcinol glue and a urea formaldehyde glue.
The apparatus used as well as the operating technique are detailed.
