Thouvenot Affiliation: Not available Biography: Destinado en Guayana Francesa en 1982 para organizar la información de la Gestión del Departamento de Suministros, donde trabajo hasta su jubilación en 2005, participó como experto en entomología en numerosas misiones realizadas en la selva primaria, a la que se le transportaba y de la que se le recogía mediante helicópteros del ejército francés en el marco de los estudios de impacto ambiental y del establecimiento de parques naturales regionales con el ORSTOM (Instituto Francés de Investigación Científica para el desarrollo en Cooperación) y el ONF (Oficina Nacional de Bosques. Estas misiones y sus innumerables expediciones personales para recolectar ejemplares, le han permitido descubrir numerosas especies de insectos nuevas para la Ciencia. |

After a brief presentation of shouth american Dynastinae subfamily and some digressions on the notion of the discover of rarity in tropical surroundings teratology, this work focuses in the different malformations that occur within the largest of Guianese dynastids, Megasoma actaeon, described through twenty examples.
