Review:

The survey includes all the spontaneous or subspontaneous distinguishable taxa of the "Lupinus genus" in Spain and Portugal. For most of these taxa, are studied aspects related with popular onomastic, taxonomy, Spanish and Portuguese growing areas at a local level, ecology (altitude, exposure, climate, soil, sinecology, agricultural, silvicultural, grazing, capacity, etc.) and use (systems, toxicity, cultivation, if any, etc.). Besides, methods for breeding and selection of spontaneous ecotypes and criteria for the choice of seeding areas are suggested.
