Review:

An outstanding line of activity of the author has been the characterization of the ecosystem environment-plant in Spanish vineyards. In this frame, a broad overview of the grapevine soils in Spain is presented, comprising geological origin, soil types and description of most notable features (location, texture, depth and, remarkably, limestone aggregate, active lime and other details). A total of 8541 Characterizations have been done, grouped by wine regions, provinces, municipalities and itineraries, according to the current management of wine regions. This first book relates to the following wine regions: Galicia, Cantabria, Duero, Alto Ebro and Aragon.
