The structure and function of a Scots pine forest in Valsaín (Sierra de Guadarrama - Spain) has been studied. The site is the watershed CV02, “Los Acebos”. Aerial biomass of pine overstory, understory (with special attention to shrubs and herbs layers) litterfall and litter has been measured, and fluxes between these compartments were also evaluated. Stocks and fluxes of organic C and nutrients (N, P, K, Mg, Ca, Cu, Fe, Zn and Mn) have been quantified
