Review:

The production of grafted treelets that propagate genetic improved material of Mediterranean Stone pine, Pinus pinea L., is of general interest, given the global increase in plantations for obtaining Mediterranean pine nuts as gourmet nut. The register of Spanish elite clones in 2015, as result of more than twenty years of experimentation, will allow the establishment of productive plantations from these basic materials. The present book resumes the experiences and knowledge gained by the authors during the development of genetic improvement programmes for stone pine; it offers technical data as guidance for the development of Mediterranean stone pine plantations as nut crop
